Board of Directors
Mr Clark has over 30 yearsโ experience in corporate advisory and public company management.
He was a director of successful Australian gold miner Equigold NL (โEquigoldโ) from April 2003 and was Managing Director from December 2005 until Equigoldโs $1.2 billion merger with Lihir Gold Ltd in June 2008. Equigold successfully developed and operated gold mines in both Australia and Ivory Coast.
Mr Clark was appointed Managing Director of Regis Resources Limited (โRegisโ) in May 2009 and Executive Chairman in November 2016. He retired as a director of Regis in October 2018. Mr Clark oversaw the development of Regisโ three operating gold mines at the Duketon Gold Project, which culminated in the project producing well over 300,000 ounces of gold per annum.
Mr Clark is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Mark began his career in the resources industry in the 1980s as a corporate lawyer advising companies on resource project acquisitions, financing and development. He has a Masters of Law (LLM) and over 30 yearsโ experience as a director of ASX listed mining and exploration companies.
He is currently a director of Red Hill Iron Ltd (appointed in 2016) and previously has been a director of Hill 50 Ltd, Abelle Ltd, Metals X Limited, Westgold Resources Ltd, Lynas Corporation Ltd and Regis Resources Ltd.
Mark joined the board of Regis Resources in July 2009 as a non-executive director and was a major contributor on the board that transformed Regis from a small gold explorer to one of Australiaโs largest gold producers as it is today.
Mark has a deep knowledge of the Australian resources landscape and the regulatory regimes around mine development and operation. He also has significant experience in the commercial and legal aspects of project development, financing and corporate transactions.
Myles was from 2009 until December 2018 a senior executive at Regis having had project and business development roles, culminating in the role of Executive General Manager โ Growth from which he resigned in December 2018.
Prior to Regis, Myles held a number of senior operations roles for gold mining and development companies and has significant experience in the permitting, development and operations of gold projects in Western Australia. Myles has various regulatory and technical qualifications in mining, management and finance.
Bernie is a qualified metallurgist with over 30 yearsโ experience in mining and processing, including senior management and technical roles at several gold mining operations in Australia and overseas.
He has held senior leadership roles across a range of business disciplines including operations, commercial management and technical functions at Orica Mining Services and leading processing consumables supplier Donhad Pty Ltd where he was an executive director for over 12 years.
Bernie currently provides metallurgical consulting services to the processing services industry.
Jill is an experienced geologist with over 25 yearsโ experience in the Australian mining industry.
She has a strong operating background having worked for several Australian gold and base metals companies performing a variety of roles including resource estimation, near mine exploration and mining geology.
Jill is currently the Principal Geologist at Entech, a West Perth based, international mining consultant specialising in resource geology, mining engineering and geotechnical services.
Senior Management
Tony is a proven operations manager with extensive experience gained in a career of over 30 years in the mining industry.
Tony held the GM Operations role at Capricorn since 2020 and has held several senior operations roles managing and commissioning plants and projects across three states in Australia and Cote dรvoire.
Previous roles have included GM Operations overseeing the highly successful Duketon operations for Regis Resources Limited, Operations Manager โ Kirkalocka and Commissioning Lead Bonikro โ Cote dรvoire for Equigold.
Tony has various regulatory and technical qualifications in mining, processing, and management.
Shane brings over 15 years of mining expertise to Capricorn Metals, with a proven track record in project evaluation, delivery, and operational efficiency.
As General Manager, Strategy & Growth at MACA Ltd, Shane oversaw the estimating, commercial, engineering, and technology functions.ย His leadership was instrumental during a period of remarkable business growth, expanding annual revenue from $350 million to $1.65 billion during his tenure.
In his role as Group Manager Energy Transition at Thiess, Shane led global evaluations of mining initiatives. He focussed on enhancing productivity and profitability, within increasingly stringent regulatory frameworks.
Shane’s comprehensive understanding of the mining value chain is an asset to Capricorn, enabling effective acquisition strategies through to project delivery.
William is a Chartered Accountant with significant experience in senior financial roles with public companies.
From 2019 โ 2022 he was Financial Controller at ASX listed gold producer Regis Resources Ltd where he was responsible for both internal and external financial reporting and various commercial functions.
Most recently William was CFO and Joint Company Secretary at ASX listed copper explorer/developer Firefly Metals Ltd.
